Terms of Service
Last updated: October 21, 2026 (draft). These terms cover tailkept.com and any order you place with Tailkept, a seller based in New Jersey, United States. [NEEDS MATT/LAWYER: legal entity name and business address]
1. What we sell
Tailkept makes personalized pet products (blankets, mugs, canvas and poster prints, ornaments) featuring a portrait made from a photo you upload. Every item is made to order.
2. How portraits are made
Portraits are digitally created with AI from your photo. They are not hand-painted. We use an AI image service (Replicate) to turn your photo into a watercolor-style portrait. AI can get small details wrong, such as an ear shape or a marking, so you always see a preview before you buy. The example pets on this site are AI-made, not customers' pets.
3. Free previews and redos
Previews are free. Each portrait includes 3 free redos; a redo is a new version or a different photo. To keep the service available for everyone we limit how many previews one visitor or email address can make per day.
4. Your photo
By uploading a photo you confirm that you own it or have permission from the person who owns it to use it this way, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. You keep ownership of your photo. You give us permission to use it only to make your preview, your portrait and your order, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please upload pet photos only. 5. Prices, payment and tax
Prices are in US dollars. Payment is handled by Stripe; we don't see or store your full card number. Free US shipping. Sales tax is added at checkout where required (we're registered in New Jersey and use Stripe Tax to calculate it). 6. Shipping and delivery
We ship to US addresses only. Free US shipping. Made to order. Usually arrives in 1–2 weeks. Items may arrive in separate boxes. Delivery estimates aren't guarantees; if your order runs late we'll email a new date and offer a full refund. Products are made and shipped by our print partner (Printify and its print providers).
7. Cancelling
You can cancel free within 3 hours of ordering by emailing hello@tailkept.com. After that your order is already in production.
8. Problems with your order
If an item arrives damaged or misprinted, or doesn't match your preview, we'll remake it free. Send us a photo within 30 days of delivery. Because every item is personalized, we can't accept returns for change of mind. [NEEDS MATT/LAWYER: refund-instead-of-remake option; lost parcels; chargebacks]
